“At this point in my life, my goal is to really help people. Hopefully, through that help, I can change a few people's lives.”

A True Texan, Born and Bred

Bobby Garcia was born in Pharr, Texas, raised by two hard-working parents who passed that virtue on to their children.

Bobby’s father, born and raised in San Juan, Texas and graduated from PSJA high school. Thereafter, he worked for the Coca-Cola company for 37 years, starting as a helper to the truck drivers and working himself all the way up to the position of plant manager.

Bobby’s father was stationed in northern South Korea during his time serving in the Korean War. After that, he served as a member of the American Legion Post 37 in McAllen, Texas.  He was also a member of the Rio Grande Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8788 also in McAllen, Texas serving as chaplain and member of the color guard for many years.

Bobby’s mother is also a Texan, born and raised in Hidalgo County. Her parents were farmers and ranchers, spending half of the year in northern Hidalgo County, raising cattle on a ranch. The other half of the year was spent at their farm near the Rio Grande River, where they grew everything from sugarcane to cotton. Bobby’s mother graduated from McAllen High School, then went to work at the courtesy booth of Kroger for many years before leaving her job to raise her four children, Bobby, his older brothers and younger sister.

Building Devotion to Law and Justice

After attending Victor Fields Elementary School and Travis Junior High, Bobby graduated from McAllen Memorial High School in 1983. He then went on to study economics at the University of Texas in Austin.

Bobby’s dedication to justice and service was sparked when he saw the law being misused by an attorney. The individual misused his position in order to cheat Bobby’s grandfather out of a parcel of land, ultimately affecting Bobby’s decision to study the law.

After attending the University of Texas in Austin, Bobby moved to Houston, where he attended the number one trial advocacy school in the country at that time, South Texas College of Law, graduating in 1991.

Bobby was later able to confront the attorney who had wronged his family. He told this unscrupulous lawyer that he now understood how he had cheated his grandfather. Bobby told him that his actions had influenced his choice to go to law school and become a dishonest attorney’s worst nightmare; a lawyer who stood up against those who would use the law to maliciously harm others.

More Than a Committed Attorney in Texas

Over the years, Bobby has spent much of his time volunteering in his community. He has served to protect a high standard of legal representation for Texans and lawyers the nation during his time with the State Bar Association, serving eight years on the State Bar Grievance Committee, where he acted as Chairman for six of those years.

Bobby has also worked to represent the underserved in his community by serving on various boards, including the Mission Hospital Board and the Children’s Advocacy Board, in which he served as President for almost ten years.

Bobby and his family are also involved in their local religious community, attending and volunteering at local churches. They donate both their time and money, preferring to spend Christmas and Thanksgiving giving back to the community. While not dedicated to a sole establishment, Bobby donates to any cause in support of Sister Fatima Santiago and Sister Norma Pimentel, one of Time Magazine’s most influential people of 2020.

Today, Bobby’s time is devoted to his wife, kids and pets. Any spare time he finds is dedicated to his love of flying. As a licensed pilot, Bobby flies for both business and pleasure. His is a licensed pilot, that is instrument rated, multi-engined rated with a high performance endoresment and also complex endoresment.

Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, she also intends to go to law school.

“Our pets bring a lot of love to the family and are therapeutic to the soul. I don’t know what we would do without them.”
